Turk, Edward Baron, Hollywood Diva: A Biography of Jeanette MacDonald,
University of California Press, 1998. A scholarly social-biography by M.I.T.
professor Turk who was knighted by the French government for his highly
acclaimed biography of film director Marcel Carné. 450 pages, 60 b&w
illustrations. Turk draws on Jeanette's unpublished autobiography and other
important documents and letters to reveal simultaneously the woman and the
social forces of the era that made her the musical queen of the Golden Age.

Scrapbooks with reviews of Nelson's career, assembled by his mother, Isabel Eddy, plus many photos are housed at the University of Southern California Cinema/Television Library in Los Angeles.)

Nelson donated his extensive collection of sheet music and scores to the Occidental College Music Library, Los Angeles, where they are housed in a special section.
